Expression of interest in casual support role

Thank you for your interest in joining VIA Care to support people with a disability.

 

We are currently looking for disability support workers to join our casual staffing pool. When you have joined the staffing pool we will contact you to offer you support work shifts with participants.

 

Because we have new clients requesting different supports and different times we work to match with shifts that suit your schedule. We cannot predict exactly what shifts will be available in the future however many of our clients are looking for regular workers who can work similar hours each week.

 

This expression of interest is the first step to joining us as a support worker and comprises some basic eligibility questions as well as longer questions to help us identify the type of work you are most suitable for.

 

Once you have completed this expression of interest a staff member will be in touch to undertake an interview.

 

If you are successful in the interview and meet the criteria (see below) you will then be invited to an induction session where you will learn about VIA Care processes.

 

Once your induction is complete, VIA Care will work to match you with participants who require.

Do you have a car and drivers license?
Have you completed or are you studying any relevant training/qualifications (please specify)?
Have you received a Covid vaccination
Do you have a current NDIS Worker Screening Check?
Do you have a current national police check?
Do you have a current first aid certificate?
Do you have a current Working With Children Check?

Short answer questions

Please answer the following two questions with short answers (3-4 sentences)
 

Please note that all VIA Care staff must:

• hold an NDIS Worker Screening check
• complete the NDIS worker orientation modules
• hold a valid working with children check
• have a current national police check
• have received a first Covid vaccine dose and
• be fully vaccinated no later than November 26th 2021

If you do not meet all these requirements you can still submit an expression of interest to start the process however you will need to have all checks finished before you can commence working with VIA Care.

The worker screening check can be conducted online, costs $121.17 and is valid for five years.

Please note that matching staff to people needing support is undertaken carefully and is based on both the skills and experience of applicants and other elements such as shared interests, personality and other skills such as languages spoken. Because of the need to find the right match VIA Care cannot promise an immediate start but tries to commence staff as quickly as possible once they have completed induction.

Privacy
All information provided in this expression of interest will be kept confidential and will not be shared with anyone outside the organisation. The only members of VIA Care who will have access to the information you provide are those people directly involved in the hiring process.
